Acai Berry Juice Under The Test
A well-known and commercial Acai Berry fruit juice was placed in a 3-part study, led by Dr. Alexander Schauss, in a session and symposium called “Anti-Oxidants In Fruits And Vegetables And Improving Human Health”.
Although the focus was how anti-oxidants in fruits and vegetables help in healthy human living, the spotlight was on Acai Berry.
The first study was to check of Acai Berry’s anti-oxidant content and capacity by using a cell-based anti-oxidant capacity.
The second part of the study made use of 4 ounces of Acai Berry juice and administered it to 6 participants on a single day to check how long it will take to absorb and take advantage of Acai Berry juice’s anti-oxidants.
Last BUT not the least, a randomized and double-blind study was conducted with 12 healthy adults fasting overnight and drinking 4 ounces of Acai Berry juice the next day.
A test of fire indeed for the Acai Berry Juice!
The Results
The first test was a success for the Acai Berry juice. The anti-oxidant it contains proved to be sufficient and plenty enough to cross the cell’s membranes and plasma, and more importantly, it gives protection from oxidation and free radicals.
The second study was also decided in favor of Acai Berry juice!
Blood samples of the 6 adults were taken after 30, 60, and 120 minutes after drinking 4 ounces of Acai Berry juice. And with on all blood samples taken from different times for the 6 adults, anti-oxidant bioactivity and compounds were found!
And what about the final test?
In this double-blind, placebo-controlled study, after 2 hours of consumption, 11 out of 12 adults has shown an increase in anti-oxidant capacity! And 10 of them have shown GREAT decrease in free radical activity and peroxidation of the skin.
This is more than enough to prove that Acai Berry is TRULY a MUST have in everyone’s diet!
